Firstly, we cannot assume that the performance in a recording studio equaled a performance on stage. Nevertheless, the usability of music recordings is limited, since they have several drawbacks, three of which should be mentioned briefly. Recordings of singers seemingly conserve the style and sound of the singing practice since the early 20th century this may help to evaluate certain questions, like the application of ornaments, coloraturas or expressive timing. Thus, it seems a relief that music performances were recorded since the late 19th century. Since singing needs no musical instrument, there are no historical instruments to be analysed for deriving additional information related to singing practice. This matter seems especially pertinent when it comes to singing. This restriction is a problem, at least as far as the time prior to the emergence of music recordings is concerned. OUR knowledge of historical performance practice is mainly based on written sources and artefacts. Submitted 2019 February 27 accepted 2019 June 12. Since many of today's vocal artists still view early recordings as the gold standard of interpretation, we should consider the possibility that early recordings are by no means a representative sample of the artists of that time, but rather a selection due to the constraints of the technology at that time. Yet, Edison's concept of tremolo was as ambiguous as it was influential, for it was the tremolo on which Edison frequently based his decision to employ singers for commercial recordings. In some cases, his comments on the tremolo even contradict the vibratos found in the recordings. We conclude that there are at least two different factors contributing to Edison's concept of tremolo, which include a) technical limitations and artefacts related to the recording process, and b) aesthetic judgements based on his taste for a good singing voice, but which are not necessarily related to the vibrato as such. ABSTRACT: We linked an analysis of vocal vibratos in early recordings with Edison's dismissive attitude towards singers' tremolos in the same recordings.

Stuck At Loading Screen, Can’t Load Save File Fix This will reduce both CPU and GPU load and will stop the game from crashing. Just lock the game’s FPS to 30 through the game’s menu in Video settings. Usually, I recommend limiting FPS through Nvidia Control Panel but in the case of Watch Dogs Legion, doing it through the driver causes performance issues. In case you don’t want to mess with the GPU clock or the GPU is old, players can try limiting the game’s MAX FPS. If the GPU is overclocked, then revert it back to its default GPU clock even if its factory overclocked. Hit apply and the game won’t crash anymore.Īnother reason for the Watch Dogs Legion in-game crash could be the GPU. Look for the “Low Latency Mode” and set it to “Ultra”. Official FIGHT PASS review: Double crossing, violence and possibly the biggest cast in film history. Pre-Bruce Lee superstars Ti Lung and David Chiang team up with director Chang Cheh and action choreographer Liu Chia-Liang again for this mano a mano classic of a trial by fire…and fists. The Shaw Brothers knew exactly what they were doing, and for that The Avenging Eagle receives a perfect 5 Chop rating. It’s when you step back and appreciate the weaponry from all the characters that you realize most of the aforementioned men specialize in pistol play that you realize the crossover wouldn’t have done as well. Scene after scene, you’re distracted by the missing presence of the greatest stars of western cinema. At first glance it appears that possibly the addition of a surging Clint Eastwood, James Coburn or Lee Marvin would have been more effective for the movie. Quite possibly the best mix of the two in the history of FIGHT PASS films. It’s like a perfect mix of kung fu and western. Official score: Lots of sand throwing in this one. Quote of the film runner up: “Why do you hit me there?!” “Because I like to, that’s why.” If you give me your home address, I’ll mail you there.” I’ll collect your body for you and I shall pick out a really nice coffin for you. After a series of Joe Dirt-esque flashbacks to his childhood, the audience and Yoh Xi-Hung are taken through the journey of Chik Ming sing’s life. Conflicted “son” Ti Lung and vengeful victim Alexander Fu Sheng command the screen as consummate warriors united in exceptional kung-fu … and tragedy.įIGHT PASS official review: After being discovered and rescued just before death, Chik Ming sing is recruited by Yoh Xi-Hung. Everything is exceptional in this outstanding martial arts drama, which won the “Best Editing for Drama” Golden Horse Award. i prefer using Lr4 because of all the rest (image management, catalogue compatibility with client, quality of development)īoth are excellent, one have some cool feature that the other dont have, but about quality i find they are both excellent, if you have the same knowledge with both software, i think the result will be probably the same or pretty close too. so if you are into shothing connected, C1 is certainly a better choice. Lightroom Classic is a desktop-based program for photos stored locally, such as on your external or computer hard drive. But many people i know also prefer the information or the subtility you can get from Lightroom (i do prefer it vs C1)Ĭ1 sharpen is not as good vs Lightroom in my oppinion, or i should say that i most of the time find the result too *crude* with C1 vs Lr.Ĭ1 is wayyyyyyy faster for thetered shoot vs Lr, i mean click and instantly you have the shot on screen with C1, click and 1-2-3-4sec it appear in Lr. and some photographer prefer C1Pro because the image look more appealing automaticaly right out of camera. The main advantage of using C1Pro vs Lightroom is for is lens correction / moiré feature IF you need that. but for years, C1Pro less frequently (only when working with digital back like P25-45 and the newer IQ60-80) But that might depend on what cameras you are using and what kind of photography you do as well. Keep in mind that you might have to play a little with the default settings as I don't think C1 is configured optimally from the get go. You can just download it from their website and install it without activating it and it will run as a fully functional trial version for 60 days. I like to pick the best tool for the job and to me lightroom is the jack of all trades but the master of none.īut if you are satisfied with lightroom and the workflow there is little reason to change is there? If you want to try C1 however you don't have to use the copy you've won. I also use other software for stitching, exposure blending, focus stacking and such. From there I move to raw conversion (C1), retouching (photoshop), preparing for output (photoshop) and when needed printing on a roll inkjet (qimage). I have since started to use photomechanic to view and select images on large volume shoots because it is much, much faster - a true speed demon. And faster to use as in having to fiddle less with the sliders to get the expected result.įive years ago capture one's version 3.x was a speed demon but from version 4 and onwards everything was about as slow in capture one as it is in lightroom. I haven't tried LR4 but for older versions I always thought capture one would give me better, more colors true to the subject, better skin tones and more pleasing tonality overall. Since I’m older and more mature I can see how difficult it may be to be with someone you want to be with but cant because of various reasons. Now that I’m older can more grasp the concept of the whole film I can more understand some scenes that I probably didn’t understand when I was younger. The dialect used in the movie has always been understandable and relatable. This film is often played on television networks such as BET. This just goes to show that even though it’s an old movie the quality of the film was still great and it doesn’t look like it was produced many years ago. To me watching it in the comfort of my own home was just as good as watching it in the movie theater. Although, I didn’t see it in theater because I was young way too young when it came out in the year 2000, I watched it years later. When I first watched the movie Love and Basketball I was a young girl around the age of thirteen and I was immediately drawn to the love story. Although Quincy has moved on and is in a new relationship, Monica still feels the same for him and is destined to fight for his love. Monica and Quincy break up and years later a tragedy brings them together once again. The two stay together for a while and attend the same college but they separate while in college Quincy goes through a difficult time with his father. One night after prom their senior year in high school their romance blossoms. Growing up they attend the same middle school and high school. Quincy and Monica both shared a passionate love for basketball in high school keeping them focusing on one thing, going to college and hopefully ending up playing pro-Ball one day. Monica and Quincy relationship goes through the motions like any one else throughout the years. The two quickly develop a love hate relationship from the day they first meet. Her family is quickly acquainted with her neighbor Quincy McCall and his family Quincy is played by Omar Epps. In chronological order this film shows the first day a preteen girl named Monica Wright played by Sanaa Lathan and her family moving to her new home in a Los Angeles, California neighborhood in 1981. The storyline was great and very much believable, almost like you forgot you were watching a film. A love story that any person growing up can relate to. Their performance throughout the whole movie was simply impeccable. The major actors who starred in this film are Sanaa Lathan, and Omar Epps. 40 Aces, and Mule film works produced Love and Basketball in the year 2000. This film was written and directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood. Till this day this classic love story it will never get old. Love and Basketball has been loved and adored by many people of all ethnicities old and young since it made its first appearance fifteen years ago.

Maybe they'll be remembered again when McCall returns for a sequel, which this film is obviously quite determined to set up.The Equalizer is a 2014 English-language Action Crime motion picture written by Richard Wenk, Michael Sloan and Richard Lindheim. Instead, he just takes a quick trip to a country house.Īs McCall returns refreshed to singlehandedly overturn an oligopoly, a film that had started by engaging with issues of ageing and loss has forgotten such petty concerns entirely. He's so convincing at being tougher than everyone else that we never get that end-of-the-second-act moment where it looks as if everything is lost. But Denzel's strength is also his weakness. Denzel is so cool, so made of pure nails he can make even the most preposterous action scene feel thrilling. Secondly, there's the even older chestnut of how the audience suspends disbelief as the toughest (and most tooled-up) killers east of the Danube get laced by a man who can remember the moon landings.įortunately for Fuqua, this ain't just any old 59-year-old. Firstly, there's the desensitisation-to-violence chestnut as Teddy (a just about convincing Marton Csokas) starts popping people with ever more lurid brutality. There are two problems with this turn of events. Soon enough dozens of people are being blown up, shot dead and having their testicles shoved in their mouths. The organisation is headed by a man called Pushkin who sends his enforcer, Teddy, to tie things up. The pimps are, naturally, the lowest orders of a massive Russian crime syndicate who trade in everything from people to oil. Then McCall heads to a well-appointed private bar and takes out Lena's assailants in all of 28 seconds, putting a corkscrew to effective use in the process, and things go entirely to pot. It's a small drama with a vague air of menace and it's all quite compelling. He's organised to the point of mania, holding himself together for the memory of his dead wife. It's there that he chats with Lena, sharing his vaguely hippyish wisdom ("mind, body, spirit") and ploughing through classic works of literature. He has a smoothie in the morning, gets on the bus to work, is a cheery adviser to young colleagues at a DIY superstore, then returns for dinner in a local diner that really should pay Edward Hopper some royalties. McCall has come to know Lena as part of his meticulous daily routine. This film begins in similar territory with Washington's McCall volunteering to assist a young prostitute called Lena (Chloë Grace Moretz) who's been bloodily assaulted by her pimp. The Equalizer is a remake of the 80s TV series that starred Edward Woodward as a sort of refined Charles Bronson, taking out street scum with a Walther PPK and a stiff upper lip. And this time the nation that needs to watch out is Russia. Here he reunites with another former collaborator, Antoine Fuqua (with whom he won an Oscar for Training Day), to play former black-ops commando Robert McCall. Or a decade or so anyway, ever since his ex-CIA officer John Creasy tore up half of Mexico in Tony Scott's Man on Fire. W ith the current vogue for ageing action heroes – Liam Neeson, the Expendables, more recently Kevin Costner – it's easy to forget that Denzel Washington has been doing this for ever. If you insist on playing this game, make sure you have a computer that is at least Core 2 Duo, a very good graphics card and lots of memory. My strongest advice to anyone reading this is: DO NOT buy this game for at least 6 months or a year until it has been fully patched and fixed or you will have problems. It is obvious to many people playing this game that the company launched a game still in Beta stage and eventually the game may become great when they make enough patches for it. Please fix this game!!!!!!!!!Ĭivilization 5 Is a Beta Release - Wait for the PATCH ! However I can't even experience the gameplay anymore because of them. I'm giving this game 3 stars instead of 1 only because of the marvelous gameplay once you get past the crashes. I think the game play is magnificent and the hex grid and combat revisions were genius, however the game is probably the most crash ridden and totally unstable game that has been released in the last 5 years, no thanks to steam which I think is the most idiotic thing that Sid Meier could have done by incorporating it into Civ V. It used to play for a about 400 turns, but now it crashes almost as soon as I get to the main menu. Civ V also crashes every single time I play it. You need to have steam running all the time to play Civ V and you have to have an internet connection. Steam is probably the worst gaming application ever. However, I hate the network it runs on and the frequency of its crashes. I love the Civilization Franchise and I love Civilization V. I love the game itself but its too crash ridden and unstable to play |
